Neither - Nor     Either - Or  (Coordinating conjunction aka FANBOYS)

During your grammar session last week, all of Year 5 were learning how to use coordinating conjunctions more appropriately. Last week we focused on: Neither-Nor, Either-Or. 
In your book, write two compound sentences for each coordinating conjunction. 
(A challenging compound sentence will require you to really think about how you want to structure it. I want to be either a doctor or scientist is a simple example.)

1) Borg's Bike Shop has a number of bicycles and tricycles for sale. Mr Fletcher counted a total of 60 wheels. How many bikes and how many trikes were for sale? Show how you got your answer in more than one way.

Because we are currently learning about the process of writing better paragraphs, the teachers want you to watch these videos so we can discuss and sing them in class. 



Questions:
1) In the Video about Mr Heath's trip to London,he uses two (2) types of sentences. Write down which types you believe he used.
2) Write a paragraph that explains your feelings about homework. Remember to use the hamburger scaffold and a variety of sentences too.

Re-watch the powerpoint that Year 5 discussed last Thursday. It is presented to you as a video. Discuss it with someone in your house. Can you teach them something new about writing good quality paragraphs?
